ØPUS Intel is well-funded by leaders in the data and entertainment industries. The Lead Data Scientist will work closely with data engineering, product and development leaders gaining a broad experience of working in data science. This is a rare chance to join a founding team and hold a key strategic role in developing the Data Science + Engineering function at early stage.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement proprietary explanatory and predictive models utilizing ML techniques 
  • Define models’ quality and performance metrics and implement their monitoring systems
  • Interface with Data Engineering team to establish "feature stores" and data pipeline contracts
  •  Develop and execute model deployment process and live servicing
  •  Establish and own classifications strategy, taxonomy and mapping meta-data
  • Analyze efficacy of natural language models to optimize performance against specified business metrics 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • In-depth knowledge of statistical analysis, EDA, modeling, and machine learning techniques
  • 5+ years of work experience with productionized ML models
  • Proven experience in models life-cycle management, including deployment, integration, and live monitoring  
  • Hands-on experience with NLP and advanced text mining. Familiarity with ML Image & Video Analysis is a plus
  •  Experience in classification and taxonomy design, mapping and change management
  • Highly proficient and hands-on with SQL, NoSQL and Python
  • Experience in designing ML experiments, A/B tests and performance metrics
  • Familiarity with AWS Redshift, Spark, or other cloud-based technologies for model training and scoring
  • Familiarity with social data api’s and publicly available data a plus 
  • Familiarity with ranking and recommendation systems
  • Exceptional project planning skills, including estimating, scheduling, and executing on committed schedules
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to dive deep into complex technical problems and drive change
  • Excellent problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail


COMPENSATION + BENEFITS

  • The expected base is $160,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills.
