ØPUS Intel is well-funded by leaders in the data and entertainment industries. The Lead Data Scientist will work closely with data engineering, product and development leaders gaining a broad experience of working in data science. This is a rare chance to join a founding team and hold a key strategic role in developing the Data Science + Engineering function at early stage.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implementation of multi-source data channels and ETL processes
  • Design and implementation of RESTful API services
  • Work closely with the data-science team to deploy and service predictive models
  • Develop queries and data visualization solutions using open source tools
  • Actively find ways to improve our tech. platform, performance and throughput
  • History of working with MongoDB and and MySql
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) best practices
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Maven or Ant build scripts
  • JUnit or TestNG framework, JMeter, HtmlUnit, Selenium or other testing frameworks


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years experience in relational and NoSql databases, SQL query optimization and tuning
  • 5+ years experience in data warehousing design and data modeling, and big data management
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Expert level knowledge of Java and/or Python
  • Mastery of data structures, modeling and schema design
  • REST-based Service Oriented Architectures development experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Unix or Linux and and multithreaded processes
  • Hands-on experience with job and pipeline automation and graceful error handling
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and strong analytical / problem solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while juggling multiple projects

COMPENSATION + BENEFITS

  • The expected base is anywhere from $180,000 - $225,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, experience, and skills.
